There is only one way to do marriage right: the way God says to do marriage!

God made marriage His last creation at the Garden of Eden: “The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18).

“Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.” (Genesis 2:19-20).

“So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.”(Genesis 2:21-22).

“The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”” (Genesis 2:23). “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24). Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” (Genesis 2:25).

To us, marriage simply means two people coming together mutually agreeing to share their lives together and explore things jointly for their common good.

That is not what God created marriage to be. Marriage is a creation of God; in the same sense as the creation of the earth and the universe; and the creation of man and all living things. God created marriage after He created Eve. He took Eve to Adam and joined them in holy matrimony; thereby fulfilling His objective:“I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18).And that was the first matrimonial ceremony on earth.

What does ‘helper suitable for him’ mean if not someone who will become one with Adam to give God ‘godly offspring’ (Malachi 2:15); and at the same time keep Adam from the sins of passion and desires of the flesh? The person suitable for Adam is going
